Earlier this spring, the historic Duke Mansion served as host for the destination wedding of Lauren and Clay. All guests came from out-of-town and many from multiple states away. In the trusted hands of their wedding planners, Honey and Thyme Events, the couple were able to envision and create a day filled with elegance and emphasis on what mattered most.
Prior to their ceremony, the couple chose to have a first touch and pray together. During this moment was a long pause that led to tears shed by the groom.
Of great important to them was that one of of their closest friends was chosen to officiate. It was also the couple’s intention that their ceremony and their relationship honor God, so all in attendance were led into a song of worship to begin their ceremony. The pair shared personal vows they had written one another before being pronounced husband and wife.
An intimate dinner was served on the terrace followed by dancing in the hall adjacent. To end the evening, the couple shared a kiss beneath streamers and waved goodbye as they exited via their grand getaway car.
